Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your time without watering itself down. Battles are turn-based, positioning matters, and you spend real thought deciding who stands where before the enemy moves. The writing carries the whole thing — party members bicker, change their minds, and occasionally surprise you during quiet camp scenes.

Progression feels earned. Instead of drowning you in loot, the game gives you a handful of meaningful skill choices each level, and respeccing is cheap enough that experimenting never feels risky. We rebuilt our healer into a debuffer halfway through and it completely changed how we handled bosses.

The only rough edge is the early pacing, which front-loads a lot of names and lore. Push past the first two chapters and it opens up beautifully.
